Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Ripon And Cornell Play To A Draw

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - Ripon's women's soccer team kept themselves in the thick of the Midwest Conference playoff race Sunday afternoon, playing to a 2-2 tie at Cornell College. In a game that was evenly played throughout, Cornell out-shot the Red Hawks by a 14-9 margin.

Ripon (3-8-2, 1-1-2 MWC) got the scoring started in the 27th minute on Maggie Bouque's first goal of the season, thanks to an assist from Maeve Kim, which would be the only goal of the first half. Cornell (10-4-2, 4-0-2 MWC) tied things up in the opening minutes of the second half on a goal by Georgia James. That tie lasted eight minutes until Kim took a pass from Abbigail Grieger for her second goal of the season to give the Red Hawks the lead once more. Cornell tied the game again in the 69th minute on Sofia Schnur's 10th goal of the season, which would ultimately be the final goal of the contest.

Stefanie Zeiger played all 110 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks, making four saves. Eli Thomason-Larsen also played the entire game in goal for Cornell, notching one save.

The Red Hawks will be in action again on Wednesday when they'll travel to St. Norbert College. That game will begin at 6 p.m. in De Pere, WIs., and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
