BELOIT, Wis. - Ripon saw a two-goal halftime lead slip away Saturday afternoon, as Beloit scored three second-half goals to escape with a 3-2 victory against the Red Hawks. Ripon out-shot the Buccaneers 28-7, including 15-2 in the first half.
The Red Hawks (3-10-2, 1-3-2 MWC) got on the board first in the 26th minute on
Brianna Schnell's fourth goal of the season, as she was assisted by
Kate Kabacinski.
Camrie Schmitz's 11th goal of the season doubled Ripon's lead just before halftime, with
Maggie Bouque and
Abbigail Grieger each recording an assist on the play.
The score remained 2-0 until the 71st minute when Beloit (3-12-0, 2-6-0 MWC) cut that lead in half on Sydney Hukin's second goal of the season. The Buccaneers would tie the score at two in the 84th minute on Makenna Downing's second goal of the season, before Hukin's second goal of the game sent Beloit to victory with just three minutes remaining.
Stefani Zeiger played all 90 mintes at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks, making three saves. Audrey Ketterer also played the entire game in goal, saving eight shots for Beloit.
