RIPON, Wis. - With the temperature hovering around 30 degrees Wednesday afternoon, Ripon's women's soccer team was heating up the nets, getting out to a big lead and never looking back, as they earned a 4-0 victory against Lawrence University. The Red Hawks dominated the game from the opening whistle, out-shooting the Vikings 27-6, including 14-2 in a first half that saw them score three goals.
The Red Hawks (4-11-2, 2-4-2 MWC) broke a scoreless tie in the 34th minute on
Camrie Schmitz's team-leading 13th goal of the season, with
Brianna Schnell assisting on the play. Schnell then scored a goal of her own in the 40th minute, her fifth of the season, on an assist by
Paige Pierce. That gives Pierce 19 career assists, which is tied for seventh in program history. Schmitz would add another goal just before halftime giving her 14 on the year, which is tied for eighth in program history for a single season. That also marks her 25th career goal, which is tied for 10th in program history. Ripon would tack on an insurance goal in the second half when Sophomore
Abbigail Grieger scored her first career goal with the assist going to Schmitz.

Charlotte Tornee combined for five saves in the shutout. Lawrence (9-9-0, 2-6-0 MWC) also received a combined effort from Sarah Yochem and Sydney Dumke, who saved 11 shots between the two of them.
