RIPON, Wis. - The Ripon College volleyball team built up plenty of momentum in recent weeks to carry with them into next season, defeating Marian University in five sets Saturday afternoon to end the season on a three-match winning streak, while also winning four of their final five contests. The Red Hawks dropped the first set to Marian 25-23, before winning the second 25-19. Marian then took the third set 25-16, but Ripon completed the comeback by taking the fourth and fifth set 25-19 and 15-9.
Ripon (6-19) was led by
Brooke Bauer, who recorded 12 kills and a hitting percentage of .333.
Monika Minniecheske added 11 kills, while
Lydia Ellis finished with 10 and a hitting percentage of .250.
Emily Allard led the Red Hawks in both assists (33) and service aces (4), while
Micaela Encarnacion registered a team-high 16 digs.
Marian (6-20) also had three players with double-digit kills, led by Sara Komosa's 16. Monica Dreifuerst added 14 kills, while Hanah Walther had 10. Amber Yahr led the Sabres with 33 assists and three service aces, while Brooklyn Taylor and Jenna Skroski each finished with 16 digs.
