RIVER FALLS, Wis. - Ripon's women's soccer team fell behind early Saturday afternoon, and could never fully recover, losing to UW-Stout by a score of 3-1.

UW-Stout (1-1) scored the game's first goal just five and a half minutes into the contest when Rachel Washington netted her first score of the season. The Blue Devils added another goal later in the half by Hannah Kirchner to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Ripon (0-2) cut that lead in half in the opening minutes of the second half when Camrie Schmitz scored her second goal of the season, unassisted. That would be as close as the Red Hawks would get however, as Rachel Younker gave UW-Stout an insurance goal in the 60th minute.

Stefani Zeiger played all 90 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks, maiking four saves, while Claudia Anderson saved six shots in her 90 minutes between the pipes for the Blue Devils.

Ripon will be in action again on Sunday, September 8 when they'll play their home opener at 11 a.m. at Prairie Field.
