RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's women's soccer team lost to St. Olaf Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-2, as the Red Hawks couldn't overcome a fast start by the Oles, who also held a 34-9 shot advantage in the game.
St. Olaf (3-1-1) broke a scoreless tie in the 10th minute on an unassisted goal by Annie Reichhoff. Less than one minute later, they would add another on a Maggie Wilson goal. The Oles took a 3-0 lead in the 29th minute, before
Paige Pierce got the Red Hawks on the board just minutes later with her second goal of the season and 41st of her career.
The Oles added to their lead in the second half with a goal by Tessa Anderson in the 71st minute. Less than one minute later,
Camrie Schmitz notched her team-leading sixth goal of the year for the Red Hawks, but St. Olaf would add an insurance goal in the 81st minute to coast to victory.
Stefani Zeiger played all 90 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks, recording 19 saves. Her counterpart, Brynne Davis made four saves for St. Olaf.
