RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's Men's Tennis team earned their second consecutive victory Sunday, completing the weekend with a 2-0 record. They defeated Dominican (Ill.) on Sunday by a score of 6-3, winning four of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles competitions.
In doubles play, Domincan (0-2) won the top flight, while
Preston Wurtz and
Daniel Garcia teamed up to win 8-3 at the second flight.
Luke Austin and
Marcus Austin then teamed up to win their number three doubles match 8-5.
Ripon (2-3) would then lose the top two singles matches, while
Adrian Granados and
Luke Austin were victorious at the third and fourth flights, respectively, with scores of 6-4, 6-3 and 6-3, 6-2.
Marcus Austin won his number five singles match 6-0, 6-2, while Garcia was victorious 6-2, 6-0 at the number six flight.
The Red Hawks will try to pull their record to the .500 mark as they'll try for their third consecutive victory on March 28 at Illinois College, which will also be their first conference match of the season.
