RIPON, Wis. - The Ripon College women's soccer team lost to Cornell Saturday afternoon by a score of 3-0. The Rams built a 2-0 halftime lead, before adding an insurance goal in the second period. Ripon was also out-shot by a 32-1 margin.
Cornell (6-5-0, 1-0-0 MWC) broke a scoreless tie in the 10th minute when Elise Hermiston found Maddalin Doran for the game's first goal. Georgia James would help the Rams double that lead later in the half when her shot bounced off the goal post and in. Kylie Hard added the game's only other goal in the 56th minute, giving the Rams the 3-0 victory.
Adreanna Wilke played all 90 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks (0-10-1, 0-3-0 MWC), making 14 saves. Her counterpart Nicole Trenholm saved one shot in 90 minutes of work.
The Red Hawks will be in action again on Saturday when they'll host Monmouth College at 11 a.m. That game can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
