GRINNELL, Iowa - Grinnell defeated Ripon 6-0 Saturday afternoon, behind a second half that saw the Pioneers score four times. Grinnell also out-shot the Red Hawks by a 28-3 margin.
Grinnell got the scoring started in the 21st minute on Dylan Maddux's second goal of the season. Jasper Yang would double that lead in the 40th minute to give the Pioneers a 2-0 halftime lead.
Davis Provost added to Grinnell's lead with his first goal of the year in the 51st minute. One and a half minutes later, Oliver Northing gave the Pioneers a 4-0 advantage. Noah Guyton and Ray Goedeker would also score goals for Grinnell.
Ripon Goal Keepers Kalen Narance and
Kenny Smith combined to save 12 shots in the game, while Carter Benson recorded two saves for Grinnell.
The Red Hawks will be in action again on Wednesday when they'll travel to La Crosse, Wis. to battle Viterbo University. That game will begin at 3 p.m., and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/viterbo/index.htm.
