RIPON, Wis. - UW-River Falls scored two second half goals Wednesday night to secure a 3-0 win over Ripon's women's soccer team. The Falcons also out-shot the Red Hawks by a 24-0 margin.
UW-River Falls (6-10-2) started the scoring in the 21st minute when Alexis Peterson scored on a corner kick, with the assist going to Regan Schweitzer. After leading 1-0 at halftime, UW-RF added to their lead in the 76th minute when Abigail Goodwin scored on a one-on-one with Ripon's Goal Keeper. Peterson would add an insurance goal in the final minute to cap the scoring.
Both starting Goal Keepers played all 90 minutes, with Ripon's
Andreanna Wilke saving 14 shots.
The Red Hawks will close out their 2021 season on Saturday against Illinois College at 11 a.m. That game will be Senior Day for Ripon, and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
