OSHKOSH, Wis. - Ripon's women's basketball team ended their time at this weekend's UW-Oshkosh Tournament with a 48-46 loss to Alma College on Saturday. The Red Hawks shot just 30 percent (14-47) in the game, while Alma converted 39 percent (20-52) of their shots. Thirty-four of Alma's 48 points came in the paint.
Ripon (1-4) led 13-11 after the first quarter of play, and would lead 17-13 after an 
Abby Hartmann basket mid-way through the second period. Alma then scored the next eight points to take a four-point halftime lead.
Alma (2-3) used a 9-2 run in the first few minutes of the second half to take control of the game, taking an 11-point advantage with seven minutes left in the third quarter. Ripon battled back to cut the lead to three on a pair of Hartmann free throws in the final minute of the period. Back-to-back baskets by 
Kiana Fall in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter gave the Red Hawks the lead, and a layup by Hartmann extended that lead to four with five minutes remaining. Alma then scored the next six points to take the lead for good.
Skyylar Brescia led Ripon with 13 points and five rebounds, while Hartmann added career-highs of seven points and four rebounds off the bench. Freshman 
Bella Opelt also posted career-highs of seven points and six rebounds, while 
Bonnie Jensen posted seven points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Alma was led by Taylor Sas' 14 points and four rebounds, while Maddie Robbins recorded nine points and five boards. Kendall Griffioen also chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds.
