WAUKESHA, Wis. - Ripon College's women's basketball team lost to Carroll (Wis.) University Saturday afternoon by a score of 65-46. The Red Hawks shot 30 percent (18-61) from the field, while Carroll converted 41 percent (22-54) of their shots.
Ripon's
Skyylar Brescia scored the first basket of the game, but that would be the Red Hawks' only lead of the contest. Carroll ended the quarter on a 15-4 run, taking a nine-point lead into the second quarter. The Pioneers led by as many as 17 in the first half, coming on a layup from Elizabeth Behrndt's in the period's final minute.
Carroll led by double digits for the entirety of the second half, leading by as many as 23 points. The Pioneers scored 20 points off 24 Ripon turnovers, while also scoring 21 fast break points. They also scored 40 points in the paint.
Brescia was the only Red Hawk to score in double figures, finishing with 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
Kiana Fall and
Avery Stonewall each added six points, while
Alison Leslie scored five.
Carroll was led by Katie Rohner's 15 points, while Behrndt finished with a double double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Natalie Palzkill scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting off the bench for the Pioneers.
