RIPON, Wis. - Ripon never trailed Friday night, en route to a 71-44 win at Beloit College. The Red Hawks shot 42 percent (28-66) from the field, including 28 percent (8-29) from 3-point range, while Beloit converted 29 percent (17-58) of their shots.
Ripon (4-3, 2-0 MWC) scored the first eight points of the game, including a pair of
Drew Jorgensen 3-pointers, to take an early command of the contest. That lead would be cut to three mid-way through the first half, but the Red Hawks finished the period on a 25-10 run to take an 18-point halftime advantage.
The Red Hawks led by double digits for the entirety of the second half, leading by as many as 28 on a late layup by
Braeden Thies. Ripon scored 21 points off turnovers, while also scoring 14 fast break points.
Jaylen Mahone led Ripon with 14 points and eight rebounds, while
Ryan Steffes added 11 points and five boards. Jorgensen and David DeValk each scored nine points.
Beloit (2-7, 0-3 MWC) was led by Ethan Bozzo's 10 points off the bench, while Mylan Walters added eight points and four assists. Andrew Walters also chipped in with six points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
