RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's women's basketball team defeated Lake Forest for the second time in eight days Saturday afternoon with a convincing 72-53 victory. The Red Hawks never trailed in the game, outscoring LFC in the paint 48-22, while also holding a 25-7 edge in points off the bench.
Ripon shot 50 percent (29-58) from the field, while holding Lake Forest (1-5) to just 35 percent (18-52) shooting. The Red Hawks built an early 7-2 lead, but Lake Forest was able to cut that lead to a single point. Ripon then ended the opening quarter on a 13-4 run to take a 20-10 advantage into the second period, which saw them coast to victory the rest of the way.
Bonnie Jensen led Ripon with her fourth career double-double, recording 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Kiana Fall added 12 points, while
Megan Dille and
Alison Leslie each scored nine.
Lake Forest was led by Kelsey Burton's 21 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Katie Neher added 12 points and seven steals, while Kara Schoenlein scored nine points.
