RIPON, Wis. - The last time Ripon's men's soccer team played Lake Forest College was in 2019, losing by three to a Forester team that eventually ended up in the Midwest Conference Championship game. Saturday felt much different, as Ripon narrowly lost to LFC by a score of 1-0, with neither team scoring in the final 82 minutes of the contest.
The game's only goal came in the eighth minute when Erik Truitt took a pass from Muhamed Prijic to score his first goal of the season. From there, both defenses showed out, as the two teams combined for 15 shots, including just six on goal.
Kalan Narance played the entire game in goal in what was his first game as a Red Hawk, making four saves in 90 minutes of work. Lake Forest (1-0) saw Jan Roessler, Muhamed Prijic, and Szymon Mocarski all get playing time between the pipes, with Prijic making the team's only save.
Ripon (0-1) will continue its abbreviated 2021 Spring season on Sunday, April 18 against Marian (Wis.) in what will be Senior Day for the Red Hawks.
