GREENSBORO, N.C. – The official qualifier lists have been posted for this year's Outdoor Track & Field Championships and senior
Callista DeCramer has earned her school record fifth qualification, earning a trip to Greensboro, North Carolina to compete in the Heptathlon. For this year's championships hosted at North Carolina A&T University, the top-19 declared performances for the women and top-17 for the men punched their tickets for the meet. That is down 25% from the normal field size due to constraints from the COVID-19 pandemic, making it one of the more difficult championships to qualify for in recent history.
DeCramer, now a five-time NCAA qualifier (Pentathlon 2019, Triple Jump 2019, Heptathlon 2019, Pentathlon 2020) has qualified once again in the outdoor Heptathlon, a two-day event consisting of the 100m Hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, 200m, Long Jump, Javelin and 800m.
She is following up All-American recognition from the 2020 Indoor Championships as she qualified as the fifth seed overall in the Pentathlon, although the Championships were cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. She earned her Heptathlon qualifying performance at the North Central Final Qualifier May 19-20. Using her last opportunity to improve on her season best score, it ultimately came down to her performance in the 800m. She eclipsed her season best in that event by over two seconds, running a 2:32.21 to give her a final score of 4,391 and move her into the top-20 nationally. She also ran a season best time in the 100m Hurdles to start the competition running a time of 15.58 seconds.
DeCramer will compete May 27-28 with the first event beginning at 11:30 EST on Thursday. Live results and a live stream of the meet will be linked to NCAA.com. Spectators will be allowed at this year's championships but limited to 8,000 per day. Tickets are sold at the gate 90 minutes before the first event for the day.
