Red Hawks Go 4-0 At Mt. Mary Tournament

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Ripon's volleyball team entered this weekend's Mt. Mary Tournament riding a two-match winning streak. They're leaving with a six-match winning streak after going 4-0 during the tournament.

In Friday's first match, Ripon (7-2) defeated North Central (Minn.) in three sets (25-22, 25-20, 25-21). The Red Hawks, who recorded double digit kills in each set, were led by Inesha Wiseman's 13 kills, while MaKenna Harmsen posted 10 and Arynn Mathieu recorded seven. Riley Nielsen dished out 32 assists to lead the team, while Micaela Encarnacion led the way with 11 digs.

Friday's second match saw Ripon defeat the host school Mount Mary in five sets. After winning the first two 25-21 and 25-14, the Red Hawks dropped the next two 16-25 and 20-25, before ending the match with a convincing 15-3 win in the fifth and final set. Encarnacion highlighted the match with 23 digs, putting her over 1,000 for her career. Lydia Ellis and Mathieu led the team with 12 kills, while Wiseman posted eight. Nielsen again led the Red Hawks in assists, with 35.

Ripon picked right up where they left off on Saturday morning, defeating Eureka 3-1 (20-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-8). Wiseman led all players with 14 kills, while Harmsen recorded eight. Encarnacion's 26 digs once again led the way, while Nielsen continued her great consistency with 34 assists. Ripon registered 13 service aces in the match, led by four apiece from Ellis, Bella Kasuboski, and Sam Thrasher, who also had 18 digs.

The Red Hawks finished off the tournament with another victory Saturday afternoon, defeating Maranatha Baptist in straight sets (25-17, 25-22, 25-15). Kelly Kline led Ripon in kills, with 11, while Thrasher and Encarnacion each recorded 10 digs. Nielsen's 13 assists was again a team-high.

Ripon will try to keep things rolling on Wednesday when they'll take part in the St. Norbert Triangular in De Pere, Wis. They'll play MSOE at 6 p.m. that night, followed by a match against St. Norbert at 8 p.m.
