DE PERE, Wis. - Ripon's volleyball team lost both matches of a triangular Wednesday night, hosted by St. Norbert College. The Red Hawks fell to MSOE in three sets (28-26, 25-20, 25-20), before also losing to St. Norbert in three sets (25-13, 25-18, 25-16).
In their first match of the night against MSOE (4-5), the Red Hawks (7-3) snapped a six-match winning streak. Ripon was led by
Arynn Mathieu's six kills, while
MaKenna Harmsen added five kills.
Riley Nielsen provided 24 assists, with
Micaela Encarnacion leading the team in digs (22). Sofia Brinker added four blocks, while
Sam Thrasher recorded six service aces, which is tied for the ninth-most in a single match in program history.
In the nightcap, Ripon lost to former Midwest Conference rival St. Norbert (4-6). The Red Hawks were led by
Ellie Ove's six kills, while
Kelly Kline added five.
Riley Nielsen's 12 assists also led the team, while Encarnacion recorded a team-high 12 digs.
Ripon will be in action again on Friday when they'll host the first of their two-day Red Hawks Invitational. They'll be in action against Rockford and UW-River Falls at 3 and 7 p.m., respectively on Friday.
