WATERTOWN, Wis. - Ripon's men's soccer team defeated Maranatha Baptist 6-1 Saturday afternoon, also out-shooting the Sabres by a 15-10 margin. The Red Hawks never trailed in the game, building on a 2-0 halftime lead by exploding for four second half goals.
Jabob Oppeneer broke a scoreless tie, scoring Ripon's first goal of the game in the 21st minute.
Chris Boehmke would later add a goal to give the Red Hawks a 2-0 halftime advantage.
The second half began much like the first, with Oppeneer depositing the ball into the back of the net. Maranatha Baptist would get that goal back two minutes later when Aaron Jones scored MBU's only goal of the game.
Esteban Borja Pena,
Eli Dietzel, and
Josh Prill rounded out the scoring for Ripon.
Kalan Narance played all 90 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks, making three saves. His counterpart Ian Balyo saved two shots in his 90 minutes of work.
