BELOIT, Wis. - Ripon's women's soccer team opened their 2021 conference season with a 3-0 loss at Beloit College on Saturday afternoon. Despite being out-shot 29-0, Ripon hung tough, playing to a scoreless tie for the first 72 minutes.
After a scoreless first half, Natalie Ortiz netted her third goal of the season for Beloit (4-1-2, 1-0-0 MWC) in the 73rd minute. Five minutes later, the Buccaneers doubled their lead when Sydney Hukin scored her first of the season. Mikaila Davis added another insurance goal for Beloit with less than five minutes remaining.
Andreanna Wilke played all 90 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks, making eight saves on the day. Beloit saw Audrey Ketterer and Daisy Kleinhoffer combine to play the 90 minutes.
Ripon will be in action again on Tuesday when they'll host Lake Forest College at 4:30 p.m. on Prairie Field. That game can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
