RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's soccer team fell to Marian (Wis.) Wednesday afternoon by a score of 4-0, as Marian used three second half goals to coast to victory. The Sabres also out-shot the Red Hawks 17-6.
Marian (2-2) scored the game's first goal in the eighth minute when Giuliano Corazzina put the ball in the net off a pass from Zach Paxton. The two teams played evenly the rest of the half, but Marian would double their lead in the opening minute of the second half on a goal by Max Kauffman. Paxton would add another in the 58th minute, before Corazzina capped the scoring with his second goal of the day in the 61st minute.
Ripon (1-3) saw Kalen Narance and
Kenny Smith combine to save four shots at Goal Keeper. Marian also used a pair of Goal Keepers, combining for three saves.
The Red Hawks will try to rebound on Friday when they'll remain at home, welcoming Westminster (Mo.) to town. That game will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Prairie Field, and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
