LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Ripon's women's basketball team remained undefeated in the Midwest Conference on Tuesday, with a convincing 89-62 victory at Lake Forest College. The Red Hawks shot 53 percent (32-60) from the field, including 38 percent (8-21) from 3-point range, while holding Lake Forest to 42 percent (23-55) shooting.
Ripon (8-8, 7-0 MWC) took early control of the game, using a 14-2 run to take a 15-point lead just seven minutes into the contest. After taking an eight-point advantage into the second quarter, Ripon extened that lead to double digits again, leading by 13 at the half.
The second half saw Ripon lead by double digits from start to finish, as they were never really threatened after intermission. They took their largest lead of 29 in the final minutes on a 3-pointer by 
Vanessa Solano.
Alison Leslie led Ripon with 23 points on 5-of-12 shooting from 3-point range, while 
Skyylar Brescia recorded her fourth career double-doubel with a career-high 20 points, to go along with 10 rebounds. 
Abby Hartmann also chipped in with 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting.
Lake Forest was led by Ely DoBrodt and Katie Neher, who finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively, off the bench. Annie Lally added seven points, four rebounds, and two steals.
Ripon will try to keep things rolling on Saturday when they'll travel to Grinnell College. That game will begin at 3 p.m., and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
