MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Ripon College women's soccer team used an early goal in the second half for a 2-1 win at Monmouth Saturday afternoon.
The Red Hawks are now 3-8-2 on the year, including 1-3 in league play. Monmouth falls to 3-8 overall and 0-3 against conference foes.
The visitors boasted a 1-0 advantage in the fifth minute of action.

Mandy Barlow who promptly one-timed it into the bottom left of the goal for the advantage.
The Fighting Scots managed to knot the score at 1-1 in the 12
th minute of play.
Despite Monmouth's offensive attacks later in the period,
Andreanna Wilke was up for the challenge as the score remained tied at intermission.
Just 3:43 into the second period, the Kowal struck the ball into the upper left of the frame for a 2-1 lead.
Moments later, Wilke dispatched two shots on goal by the Fighting Scots, keeping the match at 2-1. Despite the constant pressure by Monmouth's offense, Wilke was up for the challenge in the second half.
For the match, Wilke recorded 20 saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal.
Kowal tallied a goal and an assist in the win while Barlow garnered the other goal.
