RIPON, Wis. - A cold-shooting second quarter led the Ripon Women's Basketball team to their first loss of the 2022-23 campaign as the Red Hawks fell to visiting UW-La Crosse, 69-62.

Skyylar Brescia tied for the Ripon team lead in points with 12 apiece. 
Vanessa Solano and 
Bonnie Jensen chipped in with 11 each.
 
Ripon shot 43 percent from the floor for the game, but after a 60 percent display in the first quarter in which the Red Hawks led 19-14, Ripon converted just 23 percent of their field goals in the second quarter and got outscored 17-8 to enter halftime 31-27.
 
Ripon kept the game within reach for the early part of the third quarter, even cutting their deficit to 1, but UW-La Crosse used a 9-0 run to extend their lead to 10 before taking a 50-44 lead into the final quarter. The Red Hawks were unable to trigger a similar run of their own in the 4
th quarter as UW-La Crosse would take the 69-62 victory.
 
Ripon looks to get back in the win column on Saturday, November 19
th with a home game against UW-Whitewater. The game will start at 5:00 p.m.
