Red Hawks Earn Fifth-Place Finish

RIPON, Wis. – The Ripon College women's track and field team placed fifth at the season-opening Ripon Winter Open.

Wisconsin-Oshkosh won the meet with 234 points. Viterbo was second with 132 points while St. Norbert rounded out the top three schools with 106.5 points. Carroll was fourth (71 points).

The Red Hawks and Edgewood tied for fifth with 29 points. Concordia placed seventh with 28.5 points).

Olivia Miller picked up three points with a sixth-place finish in the 60m hurdle finals.

Kynaeda Gray's effort of 4.56m allowed her to place eighth in the long jump.

Arynn Mathieu earned the silver medal in the weight throw after registering an effort of 14.79m. Otzelberger garnered a mark of 13.32m in the event, which was good enough for seventh place.  

Otzelberger continued adding points for the Red Hawks. She notched a shot put mark of 11.90m for fifth place.

The dyad of Bridget Finn and Caroline Flesch were fourth and fifth, respectively, in the pentathlon. Finn tallied a score of 2,561 points while Flesch totaled 2,429 points.

The Red Hawks return to action Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Oshkosh Early Bird Invite.
