Kiana Fall Earns Women's Basketball's MWC Elite 20 Award

RIPON, Wis. - Prior to Friday's second semi-final of the Midwest Conference Tournament, Ripon Junior guard Kiana Fall received the MWC Elite 20 Award, given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average, participating in his or her respective sport's culminating championship or tournament event.

A Biology major from Clayton, Wis., Fall currently holds a cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.0. She helped lead the Red Hawks to their fourth consecutive conference championship this season, finishing with a 15-1 record in the MWC and hosting rights for the MWC Tournament for the fourth consecutive season. The team's starting point guard, Fall leads the Red Hawks in both assists (3.4 apg) and steals (1.7 spg) this season, while also averaging eight points and 2.6 rebounds per contest. She is shooting 35 percent from the field and 79 percent from the free throw line on the year.

This marks the 16th time a Ripon student-athlete has received this award in the seven years that it has been presented, and the second time in the last two weeks.

The Elite 20 award recognizes the commitment of the student-athlete toward the pursuit of excellence in both the athletic and academic realms as measured by reaching the pinnacle of competition within the MWC, while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers.
