CHICAGO, Ill. – Illinois Tech took early control of their match against Ripon College's men soccer team Sunday and claimed a 4-0 win over the visiting Red Hawks.
The home side scored all four goals in the first half-hour of the contest and cruised to the victory. The Scarlet Hawks claimed their fourth shutout win in as many matches to open the season.
Illinois Tech's defense ceded Ripon College few chances in the match, as the Red Hawks were outshot by their host 18-3. Ripon did, however, take three corner kicks in the match.
Braeden Harvey made six saves for Ripon College.
The Red Hawks, who were playing for the second consecutive day after defeating Eureka College 4-1 at home Saturday, fell to 1-3-1.
Ripon College's next match will take them to Michigan's Upper Peninsula as the Red Hawks visit Finlandia University on Saturday, Sept. 17. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
