MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Ripon College women's tennis team snapped a four-match skid and earned its first Midwest Conference win with a 5-4 victory on the road this morning at Monmouth College.
Ripon (3-7, 1-2 MWC) took an early 2-0 lead in doubles picking up wins at second and third doubles. Monmouth was able to cut the lead in half with an 8-3 win at first doubles.
In singles,
Chase Polyak earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at fourth singles, while
Hadley Berendsen picked up a 6-0, 3-6, 6-2 victory at fifth singles. The Red Hawks' deciding point came at six singles when
Allison Pavlovec won 6-2, 6-0. Monmouth (1-4, 0-2 MWC) claimed wins at first, second, and third singles
Ripon is back in action this afternoon in another Midwest Conference match at Illinois College at 2 p.m.
