The Ripon College women's basketball team used a dominant second half to erase an eight-point halftime deficit and post a 73-55 victory over visiting Lake Forest College Tuesday evening. The Red Hawks have now won 5 straight games, all by double-digits and all against Midwest Conference opponents.

Skyylar Brescia continued her torrid play, leading Ripon again in scoring with a season-high 23 points, on 10-of-12 shooting, and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds. Brescia also posted game-highs with 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks for a stat-sheet-stuffing performance.
Kiana Fall set a new season-high with 16 points and
Bonnie Jensen rounded-out the double-figure scorers with 11 points and added another 6 rebounds.
Jordan Bukouricz came off the bench and did her part, grabbing 8 rebounds, second on the team behind Brescia, and tying Brescia with a game-high 3 assists.

Ripon fell behind, 9-3, early in the first quarter, but came back to make it just a one-point game, 11-10, with four minutes to play in the opening quarter. Lake Forest, however, used an 8-2 run to break open a 19-12 lead before Ripon cut it to 19-14 at the end of the first quarter. The Red Hawks came out strong in the second quarter and again cut their deficit to just a single point, 21-20, three minutes into the frame. Another Lake Forest run had Ripon trailing by 10, but at the end of the second quarter, the Red Hawks trailed 36-28.

Lake Forest scored four of the first six points in the third quarter to again put Ripon behind by 10 points, but from there, the Red Hawks use a long scoring run to take control of the game. Ripon went on a 16-0 run during a 6-minute stretch of the 3rd quarter and grabbed a 6-point lead at 46-40 with a minute to play in the third quarter. Ripon outscored Lake Forest 20-8 in the 3rd quarter and led 48-44 with 10 minutes to go. The Red Hawks scored the first six points of the fourth quarter and never looked back. Ripon led by double digits for most of the fourth quarter, led by as many as 22 points, and outscored Lake Forest 25-11 in the final 10 minutes to post the 18-point victory.

Ripon will look to continue their hot streak with a home matchup with Grinnell College on Saturday, January 21st. The Midwest Conference game is set to tip at 1:00 p.m.
