WAUKESHA, Wisconsin – Despite 17 points and 10 rebounds by 
Ella Ten Pas, the Ripon women's basketball program fell 69-54 at Carroll on Saturday afternoon inside Van Male Fieldhouse.
 
Carroll (4-2) outscored Ripon (1-3) by 15 in the second half, and 10 in the fourth quarter alone, to pick up the key non-conference victory.
 
STANDOUT HAWKS
	- Junior forward Ella Ten Pas went for 17 points on 7 of 11 shooting. She added 10 rebounds for her second first double-double in a Ripon uniform.
- Senior forward Bonnie Jensen had 9 points and 8 rebounds, adding 2 assists.
- Sophomore guard Natalie Rauwolf chipped in 8 points and 5 rebounds on 50% shooting (3 of 6).
- Junior guard Bella Opelt collected 7 points and a pair of assists.
- Junior guard/forward Bree Miller netted 7 points and 2 rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
Rauwolf got Ripon on the board nearly two and a half minutes into the game before Carroll responded with a three to lead 5-2. However, the Red Hawks went ahead with six consecutive points for a three-point lead. Ripon held the Pioneers scoreless for nearly three minutes in the middle of the frame, taking its biggest lead of the quarter (six) in the process. Carroll responded to cut its deficit to two, but Miller made a free throw as Ripon took a 14-11 advantage into the second quarter.
 
Defense ruled the first part of quarter two as it took Ripon over two and a half minutes to find the scoreboard again. Following a three by Ten Pas, a 6-0 run gave Carroll a 19-16 lead before Rauwolf answered with a triple to even the score. The Pioneers lead grew to five on multiple occasions, but a pair of layups by 
Laney Havlovitz in the final minute of the half sent the teams to the locker room tied at 28.
 
In the third quarter, the teams exchanged baskets before Oplet made a fastbreak three to give Ripon a 33-32 lead. Carroll surged ahead from there, going on a 7-0 run to take a 39-33 lead – a lead it would not relinquish the rest of the afternoon. Ripon cut its deficit to five and four on a host of occasions, but the Pioneers led 50-45 heading into the final quarter.
 
Ten Pas opened the fourth quarter with a layup to bring Ripon within three at 50-47, but the Red Hawks would get no closer the rest of the way. The Pioneers ended the game on an 8-0 run to finish off the win.
 
KEY STATS
	- Carroll shot 44.3% from the floor (27-61) while Ripon went 21-58, good for 36.2%.
- The Pioneers had a significant advantage from beyond the arc, shooting 7 of 14 (50.0%) while limiting the Red Hawks to 27.8% shooting from deep (5-18).
- Turnovers were nearly similar, as Ripon had 20 while Carroll had 15.
- Olivia Rangel had a team-high 28 points for Carroll, going 11 of 18 from the floor.

Ripon returns home to play UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday (November 29). Tipoff from Weiske Gymnasium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
