RIPON, Wis. – The Ripon College women's track and field team recorded a second-place finish at the Dick Hendricks Invite Saturday afternoon.
The Red Hawks tallied 96 points at the meet. St. Norbert won the invitational with 132 points. MSOE was third with 89 points while Viterbo (85 points) took fourth and Carroll (Wis.) was fifth with 73 points in the nine-team field.
The Red Hawks distance medley team started the meet off with a victory. The squad registered a first-place finish with a time of 12:39.39, besting the field by over a minute.
Angela Mosconi notched a fourth-place effort in the 5,000m after posting a mark of 20:04.09.
The trio of
Grace Engebretson,
Isabelle Willett and Ali Denamur were neck-and-neck in the mile run. Engebretson was third (5:25.00) while Willett was fourth (5:27.74). Denamur's time of 5:29.46 was good enough for fourth place as the Red Hawks racked up 19 points in the event.
Olivia Miller captured the gold medal in the 60m hurdles after demolishing the competition. She won the race in 9.10.
Natalie Pakosz earned a spot on the medal stand with a third-place effort in the 800m. She crossed the line in 2:29.19.
In the last non-relay track event of the day,
Mikayla Flyte showcased her speed in the 3,000m. She posted a winning time of 10:51.00, besting the opposition by 19 seconds.
Ripon College picked up the win in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:09.59. The squad bested Wisconsin Lutheran and St. Norbert by nearly three seconds.
In the weight throw,
Arynn Mathieu secured second place while
Kalyn Otzelberger notched fifth place. Mathieu recorded a mark of 15.64m while Otzelberger's effort was at 14.65m.
The team returns to action Friday, Feb. 17 at the La Crosse Invite.
