RIPON, Wis. – The Ripon softball hosted UW-Oshkosh for two games on Tuesday afternoon, making up the doubleheader that was washed out on April 4. The Titans took the opener by a final of 11-0 before closing out the day with a 9-0 win.
UW-Oshkosh scratched across a run in Tuesday's first inning before opening it up with a seven-run second. Three more Titan runs came in to score in the third, and the Ripon offense was unable to make a dent in the deficit.
Maddie Hablewitz and
Sydney Swanson provided all the offense for Ripon, with Hablewitz reaching base safely in her third consecutive game.
Kalen Berger took the loss in the circle despite picking up three strikeouts in five innings of work.
The nightcap again saw the Titans explode for a big inning, as the visitors scored all nine runs in the top of the fourth.
Mikaela Lawrence picked up two hits from the leadoff spot to highlight the game for the Red Hawks, posting her team-best eighth multi-hit performance of the year.
Ripon is set to return to conference play on Saturday, when they travel to Galesburg, Ill. to take on Knox College. The doubleheader is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
