After the first day of the 2023 Midwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship, the Ripon Men's Track and Field team sits in first place with 74 points.
 
There were just seven events completed on the first day of the championship, but Ripon won three of them.
 
Rainier Villanueva won the 1500 Meter Run (3:56.37) to kick things off, then Cade Gray won an pair of field events, taking first in Long Jump (7.63m) and Pole Vault (5.16m).
 
Sam Forstner finished third in the 10000 Meter Run. Dameco Walker and Ben Fisher finished second and third behind Gray in the Long Jump.
 
Ripon will look to finish strong and bring home the 2023 Midwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship tomorrow, May 13, with the first event starting at 10:00 am.
