Ripon Wins MWC Men's All-Sports Award For The Second Consecutive Straight Year

GRINNELL, Iowa – For the second consecutive year Ripon College has been awarded the Ralph Shively Men's Athletic Award by the Midwest Conference.

This marks the third time in the 51 years the honor has been awarded that Ripon College will house the Midwest Conference All-Sports Trophy.

Ripon College won the championship with 63.5 points. The Red Hawks edged Grinnell (59 points). Monmouth (44 points), Illinois College (42 points), Cornell (39 points), Lake Forest (38 points), Lawrence (34 points), Beloit (32 points) and Knox (29 points) rounded out the league standings.

Ripon College claimed three regular-season conference championships – indoor track and field, outdoor track and field and football (co-champions).

Baseball tied for second place in the MWC. The men's soccer and men's cross country teams each garnered third-place efforts on the season. Men's basketball and men's tennis finished fourth while swimming was fifth. 

The Ralph Shively Cup was not awarded in 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 due to COVID and the absence of complete seasons across the league's nine men's sports.

The Red Hawks' women's programs also had one of the most successful seasons in recent history, tying for second in the MWC Women's All-Sports standings, which is their highest finish in 18 years. Ripon's women's team's won cross country, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field and shared a championship in basketball.
