Jorgensen And Rondestvedt Earn Academic Accolades

RIPON, Wis. – Two Ripon College men's tennis standouts were named Academic All-District as announced by College Sports Communicators Tuesday.

Drew Jorgensen and Ty Rondestvedt garnered the respective accolades.

Jorgensen, a fifth-year standout, is a native of Fond du Lac, Wis. He is majoring in exercise science. Rondestvedt is a sophomore from Altoona, Wis.

This season, Rondestvedt shared team-high honors with seven singles wins for head coach Steve Burns' team. Jorgensen has four singles victories – all of which have been as the No. 1 seed.

In doubles action, Rodestvedt has been part of nine wins at the No. 2 spot. Jorgensen's five doubles victories have been at No. 1.

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in the near future.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. The cumulative grade-point average may NOT be rounded up to 3.50.
