RIPON, Wisconsin – Despite 11 saves from goalkeeper
Andreanna Wilke, the Ripon women's soccer program could not muster enough offense in its season opener as the Red Hawks fell 2-0 to Wisconsin Lutheran at Prairie Field on Friday afternoon.
Jessi Griepentrog and
Kaley Kowal paced the Red Hawks with two shots on goal apiece.
As a team, Ripon (0-1) produced seven shots (five on goal) compared to WLC's 19 shots (13 on goal).
Wisconsin Lutheran (1-0) found the back of the net 16 minutes into the game and tacked on an insurance goal five minutes into the second half.
Nine freshmen made their collegiate debuts for Ripon.
