RIPON, Wisconsin – Kaley Kowal of the Ripon women's soccer program scored her second career hat trick as the Red Hawks rolled over Buena Vista 4-1 on Saturday afternoon at Prairie Field.
 
The senior midfielder found the back of the net twice in the first half and once in the second frame to help Ripon (4-1-1) race out to a 4-0 lead over the Beavers (2-4-0). Her first goal came just six minutes into the game and was unassisted. Less than 15 minutes later, she scored again, this time on an assist from Martina Palazzolo in the 20th minute. Less than 10 minutes into the second half, Kowal tacked on another goal, this time thanks to Jessi Griepentrog.
 
With 6 goals already in 6 games, Kowal is second in the Midwest Conference in goals and leads the MWC in game-winning goals with 2.
 
Kowal's first hat trick at Ripon came last season as she scored three goals at Mount Mary on October 25, 2022.
 
Palazzolo scored her first collegiate goal on a feed from Juliana Garcia in the 27th minute which gave the Red Hawks a 3-0 advantage.
 
Ripon had a 17-8 advantage in overall shots and an 11-7 lead in shots on goal.
 
Palazzolo peppered the net with a match-high 6 shots (5 on goal). Kowal had 4 shots and all 4 were on goal.
 
Andreanna Wilke started in goal and made 2 saves, while Britt Hable saw her first action of the season and made 4 saves in the second half.
 
UP NEXT: Ripon will prep to face Edgewood on Monday (September 18). First touch from Prairie Field is scheduled for 4 p.m.
