Box Score RIPON, Wisconsin – The Ripon women's tennis program kicked off its home portion of the schedule on a high note, defeating Marian 5-4 on Saturday morning at the Ripon High School Tennis Courts.
 
This marked the first career victory for head coach 
Sam Brickley.
 
Ripon (1-2) took the early advantage in doubles with a pair of victories on courts one and two. After Marian took an early lead with a win on three, 
Allison Pavlovec and 
Emma Ziebell were 8-5 winners on court two. 
Chase Polyak and 
Hadley Berendsen sent the Red Hawks to singles with an early lead after an 8-7 (4) win on the top court.
 
The Red Hawks extended their lead to 3-1 over Marian (0-1) after Pavlovec defeated Kendall Pliner 6-1, 6-0 on court three. Ripon was one match away from a clinch thanks to
 Isabella DeMeuse taking care of business with a 6-2, 6-2 victory on court five over Josie Bruch.
 
After Marian drew closer with a court two win, 
Catherine Skoglund clinched the match for the Red Hawks with a 7-6 (2), 6-0 win on court six over Maddie Chimenti.
 
Marian ended the afternoon with a straight-set win on court four and a three-set win on court one.
