LAKE FOREST, Illinois – The Ripon men's soccer program dropped a hard-fought 2-0 contest to Lake Forest on Tuesday afternoon at Mohr Field.
Ripon (8-3, 0-2 MWC) had its chances in both halves against the defending Midwest Conference tournament champions, but Lake Forest (2-6-3, 1-0-1 MWC) scored twice in the first half to defeat the Red Hawks for the first time since 2021.
The hosts first found the back of the net in the 13th minute thanks to Brett Klemes, and doubled their lead in the 25th minute on a goal by Nico Lomanto.
The Foresters had a 13-11 advantage in total shots, but both teams had seven shots on goal.
Finley Manning and
Gustavo Herrera each led Ripon with three shots, while
Andre Robertson had two – both on goal.
Sam Jahnke played all 90 minutes as Ripon's goalkeeper, recording four saves.
