NORTHFIELD, Minnesota – The Ripon men's and women's cross country programs ran their toughest races to date on Saturday, competing at the NCAA North Regional hosted by Carleton College at the Bill Huyck Championship Cross Country Course.
Facing stiff competition in both races,
Jenny Cortes ran Ripon's best race of the day in the women's 6K. Her time of 22:40.8 earned her All-Region status with a 21st-place finish, and will be close to securing a spot in next week's NCAA Championships.
Joley Berger was Ripon's next finisher, taking 70th in 23:58.1, while
Gabby Allard took 80th in 24:11.3.
In the men's 8K race,
Christian Kuwaye placed 101st in 26:48.70 for Ripon's top finish, while
Rainier Villanueva (108th, 26:56.50) and
Matt Seeber (109th, 26:56.60) were right behind him.
The women came in 19th as a team, while the men took 21st.
UP NEXT: Ripon now awaits to see if it will be awarded any bids into the NCAA Championships held next Saturday, November 23 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Full selections will be announced on Sunday (November 17).
