Three Red Hawks Named CSC Academic All-District

RIPON, Wisconsin – Three members of the Midwest Conference champion Ripon women's basketball program have been named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators as announced on Tuesday.

Ella Ten Pas, Anna Fahrney and Abby Hartmann were all recognized for their efforts academically and athletically.

To be eligible for academic all-district honors, student-athletes must be sophomores or older and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above while playing in 90% or starting in 60% of their team's competitions in the season.

On her way to being named the Midwest Conference Player of the Year – Ripon's first in 18 years – Ten Pas was a force all season in her first season as a Red Hawk. The junior and elementary education major from Oostburg, Wisconsin led the Midwest Conference with 11 double-doubles, had six 20+ point games and also had 12, 10+ rebound games. She set the Ripon program record for single-season rebounds with 247, doing so in the MWC Tournament final against Knox. Two weeks ago, she was named a second-team All-Region selection by d3hoops.com – Ripon's first all-region honoree since the 2019-20 season. Last week, Ten Pas was named the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division III Private School Women's Player of the Year while being named to the Academic All-State squad.

Hartmann, a senior exercise science major from Wonder Lake, Illinois, was one of Ripon's most trusted bench pieces this season. Her seven steals against Beloit on January 31 are the second-most steals in a single game in program history. Playing in all 28 games, she averaged 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. She was second on the squad with 46 steals and also chipped in 35 assists. Last week, she was named a Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State honoree.

Fahrney, a senior mathematics and business management major from Winneconne, Wisconsin, also played in all 28 games for Ripon this past season. She averaged 3.7 points and 1.6 rebounds per contest, scoring a career-high 15 points against Beloit on January 31. Last week, she also was named a Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State honoree.

Ripon finished the 2023-24 season 19-9, winning both the regular season and tournament titles in the Midwest Conference. Ripon advanced to its seventh-ever NCAA Tournament, falling to #12 Hope College in the first round in Greencastle, Indiana.
