RIPON, Wisconsin – After record-setting and eye-popping performances last weekend,
Dameco Walker and
Mikayla Flyte have received weekly recognition from the Midwest Conference for the first time this season.
Walker is this week's Men's Outdoor Field Performer of the Week, while Flyte has been named the Women's Outdoor Track Performer of the Week.
Walker continued his field event dominance in last weekend's Viking Twilight at Lawrence, winning both the long jump (7.34m) and the triple jump (14.54m). His long jump is currently the fifth-best jump in DIII this season, while his triple jump is 10th-best in the division thus far. In three outdoor meets this season, Walker has taken first or second in each meet in the long jump.
Flyte cruised to a new school record in the 10K Saturday night at the Phil Esten Challenge hosted by UW-La Crosse. Her time of 36:15.03 easily surpassed the previous record of 37:01.46 – also set by Flyte – from 2023. She took eighth against a competitive field against runners from both Division II and Division III.
This is the eighth career weekly award for Walker, the fifth career weekly track and field honor for Flyte and the seventh and eighth honors for Ripon this season.

Jenny Cortes swept the MWC Performer of the Week awards on January 16,
Bridget Finn was honored on both January 30 and February 20 and Cortes again received recognition on February 13. In the outdoor season, Cefalu was again honored on April 9.
