Walker Kicks Off Outdoor Nationals in Long Jump

MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina – Representing Ripon on the national stage, Dameco Walker competed in the long jump on Thursday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

The senior jumped 7.10m to take 12th place and earn a second team All-American honor, narrowly missing the finals in a loaded long jump field. Jumping 7.95m, UW-Oshkosh jumper Joshua Rivers was the national champion.

Walker has one more event in a Ripon uniform. He will wrap up the Red Hawks' season in the triple jump on Saturday afternoon at outdoor nationals, looking for his fifth career track and field first team All-American designation.
