WAUWATOSA, Wisconsin – The Ripon men's soccer program fell 1-0 at Wisconsin Lutheran in the season opener for both teams on Friday night at the Warriors Soccer Field.
 
The only goal of the game came in the 39th minute by Wisconsin Lutheran (1-0), as Titus Kostrzewa found the lower left part of the goal to give the host Warriors a lead they would not relinquish.
 
Offense was hard to come by for both teams, as there were only five total shots on goal. WLC had 15 total shots (eight in the first half) while Ripon marked eight total shots (six in the second half).
 
Offensively, Seth Schroeder led the Red Hawks with three shots, while Eli Dietzel had two and Gustavo Herrerra, Ivan Barrientos and Ryan Paltzer each contributed one.
 
In goal, Sam Jahnke made his first start of the season. The junior tallied two saves.
