Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Red Hawks Draw at Rockford

LOVES PARK, Illinois – The Ripon women's soccer program outshot Rockford 22-6 on Tuesday night, but settled for a 0-0 draw against the Regents at Wedgbury Stadium.

Ripon (0-3-2) controlled the game in the first half, though neither team was able to find the back of the net. The Red Hawks had two and a half times as many shots than Rockford (2-2-1) in the first half as the visitors had a 10-4 advantage. The Regents only had three shots on goal in the first 45 – Martina Palazzolo had three on her own, and five total shots in an active first 45 minutes for the sophomore.

The Red Hawks continued to pepper Rockford in the second half, as the Regents had just two shots the entire second half. Ripon was fouled just outside the box with 16:15 left on the clock, but the close free kick by Alyssa Klementzos sailed over the goal.

Individually, Palazzolo and Klementzos had a game-high six shots – Palazzolo had four on goal and Klementzos had one – while Sarah Klopp took four total attempts.

In goal, Britt Hable played all 90 minutes and made four saves.

It was a fairly clean game, as there were just 17 total fouls and two yellow cards between the two sides.

UP NEXT: Ripon returns home for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday, September 14 against Martin Luther. Saturday's match will be the only women's match all season played at Prairie Field.
