RIPON, Wisconsin – The Ripon women's soccer program got into the win column for the first time on Saturday afternoon, beating Martin Luther 2-0 at Prairie Field.
A pair of goals by
Alyssa Klementzos were the difference on Saturday. After Ripon (1-3-2) was fouled in the 47th minute, Klementzos drilled the PK home to put Ripon in front for good. Then, 20 minutes later, she scored an unassisted goal as the Red Hawks delivered their second consecutive clean sheet.
The sophomore now has scored three of Ripon's four goals in 2024.
Ripon dominated from start to finish against Martin Luther (2-3-1), holding the Knights to just two shots – one in each half. The Red Hawks tallied 20, marking their second consecutive game with at least 20 shots.
The Red Hawks also produced more chances, earning six corner kicks to MLC's two.
Sarah Klopp had a game-high four shots for Ripon, while Klementzos,
Martina Palazzolo and
Cielo Gutierrez all had three.
Both
Andreanna Wilke and
Britt Hable manned the goal for Ripon; Wilke played 16 minutes and didn't have to record a save while Hable played 73 and made one stop.
