EUREKA, Illinois – The Ripon men's soccer program scored a goal less than a minute into Saturday's game and never looked back, handling Eureka 4-1 at McKinzie Field for the Red Hawks' seventh consecutive victory.
 
Finley Manning scored on a pass by Ian Martinez 47 seconds into the contest, setting the stage for the Ripon offense to produce goals at a high rate as it has all season. Heading into Saturday, Ripon (7-1) was tied for fourth in the country in total goals, fourth in total points and eighth in shots per game.
 
Gustavo Herrera scored his sixth goal of the season in the 23rd minute on a pass by Andre Robertson, doubling Ripon's lead.
 
Owen Kramar extended Ripon's lead further, finding the back of the net for the first time in his career in the 33rd minute with the assist going to Nick Bellisle. The Red Hawks led 3-0 after the first 45 minutes, peppering Eureka (2-7) with 11 shots – six on goal – in the opening stanza.
 
The hosts scored a penalty kick goal in the 65th minute, but Ripon continued to control the pace of the game. Robertson then scored his seventh goal of the season in the 88th minute from Eric Staszak, putting a bow on another complete offensive performance by the Red Hawks.
 
Ripon had an 18-11 edge in shots over Eureka, and a 9-2 advantage over the hosts in shots on goal. Robertson, Herrera, and Emilio Ortiz all led Ripon with three shots apiece, while Schroeder, Eli Dietzel and Manning all had two.
 
Sam Jahnke played all 90 minutes in goal and did not have to make a save.
