RIVER FOREST, Illinois – The Ripon women's soccer program conceded a pair of first half goals and fell 2-0 at Concordia University Chicago on Wednesday afternoon at Concordia Stadium.
In a scoreless game that featured just six total shots in the opening 39 minutes, Concordia Chicago (2-1) drew first blood with a goal on a header off of a corner kick with under six minutes remaining in the first half. The first goal of the season by Julisa Diaz proved to be the game-winner for the Cougars.
However, CUC wasn't done in the frame. With under two minutes to go in the first half, the Cougars had multiple shots that were blocked. Moments later, the ball was kicked high in the air towards the net, and Ripon goalkeeper
Andreanna Wilke had trouble corralling it as Allie Brown bodied it into the back of the goal to double Concordia's lead.
Concordia recorded eight shots in the second half, holding Ripon (0-2-1) without one.
Freshman
Alex Siudzinski notched both shots (and shots on goal) for Ripon, who were outshot 15-2 by the hosts.
In goal, Wilke stopped two shots in the first half, while
Britt Hable made six saves in the second stanza.
