Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Ripon Roughs Up Coe, Wins Third Straight

RIPON, Wisconsin – The Ripon men's soccer program used a dominant offensive outing and three different goal scorers to defeat Coe 4-1 on Saturday night at Hopp Stadium for the Red Hawks' third consecutive victory.

Ripon (3-1) got first and second half goals from Andre Robertson, coupled with second half tallies by Seth Schroeder and Finley Manning, to score multiple goals in a game for the third time in 2024.

Robertson got things going early, scoring a goal on an assist from Thomas Geocaris less than 17 minutes into the game for his second of the season. Though the Red Hawks led just 1-0 at half, there were 15 total shots between the schools in the opening 45 minutes.

It didn't take long in the second half for Robertson to score his third goal of the season. Eight minutes into the half, Robertson took a feed from Manning and punched it home to double Ripon's lead. In the 75th minute, Schroeder used a beautiful pass by Gustavo Herrera to give Ripon another goal. The freshman has now scored three goals in his last three games.

Coe (1-2-1) got a goal back in the 75th minute off of a penalty kick, but Ripon answered less than four minutes later. The Red Hawks were fouled in the box, and Manning drove home the penalty kick for his second goal of the early season.

In a balanced offensive attack, Robertson led the Red Hawks with three shots, while Emilio Ortiz, Herrera and Schroeder each tallied two.

Sam Jahnke played all 90 minutes in net for Ripon, recording three saves.

The Kohawks had an 18-15 advantage in total shots, but Ripon had nine shots on goal compared to Coe's four.

It was a physical game between the two schools – there were seven total yellow cards and 47 fouls issued throughout the match.

UP NEXT: Ripon visits Rockford University on Wednesday, September 11. First kick from Wedgbury Stadium in Loves Park, Illinois is set for 7 p.m.
