OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Ripon women's tennis program competed twice on Saturday, falling 7-0 to both UW-Oshkosh and UW-La Crosse at the Kolf Sports Center Outdoor Tennis Courts.
UWO (2-0) started strong and swept all three doubles courts over Ripon (0-5), taking an early 1-0 lead heading into singles. The Titans won all six first sets there, clinching the match with straight-set victories on courts one, two and six.
Ripon continued to battle, as
Hadley Berendsen and
Chase Polyak each forced third sets on the third and fourth lines. Unfortunately, the Titans won both of those courts and the fifth line to finish out the match.
In the afternoon, UW-La Crosse (3-0) won the doubles point by sweeping all three courts and dropping just three games in the process. The Eagles won all six first sets in singles, earning victories on each court in straight sets to close out the day.
